Wesley to play at Corus B

Dear Wesley and Eleanor,


It is my pleasure to invite Wesley So for the Gransmaster Group B of the Corsa Chess Tournament 2010. We will try to make a strong group with 14 players, mainly talented, young players. I hope and expect Category 14/15 at least (14 players).

We can offer Wesley an appearance fee of 1.800 euro, including travel costs. We can also offer Wesley a hotel room for 2 persons, as well as breakfast for two persons. The dates are: 15-31 January 2010.

Please let me know if Wesley is ready to accept this offer. In case of a positive reply, I will prepare the contract and send it to you.

As stated by Jeroen van den Berg, Corus B will be composed of players of category 14 to 15 tournament strength player and this will be set of young and talented GM's.

GM So rightfully belong to this strength level (Cat 14- 2575-2600 elo /Cat 15- 2600-2625elo.)
and lets see how his raw talent would clash against the best juniors in the world.

This is a challenge to Wesley to emerge strong despite our lack of resources.

"IM Rodolfo Tan Cardoso in his days was actually touted to be one of Fischer's rivals. He never even got to a GM title, although he should have. IM Rodriguez was of GM caliber I believe, but he never got anywhere either. GM Torre got as far as the Candidates only. GM Balinas had to practice law. IM Yap's life ended in a tragedy. GM Antonio is still giving it a shot, after all these years, and still not making it to Candidates."

We got politicians who like to ride high to the accomplishment of somebody like Wesley, but we know all what kind of bad air they are.

Wesley good luck! I hope you crush them all.If you will make it, then this is something bigger compared to the accomplishment set by Fabiano Caruana in Corus B last year because you did it all by yourself and with out a backing of team coach/second to support you.
