naka -svidler game drawn

Naka against shulman
2008
file photo of these blog

Naka win his first round game against GM Karpov, won his second game against french GM Lagrave. His third round game in Donostia goes against GM Svidler, a tough opponent with 3 russian championship belt tucked in his belly.chessgames.com chess kibitzes circle around the idea that Naka should play for a draw, Naka has a negative score against Svidler after all.

And the game was drawn.

I'm online at ICC and playchess.com monitoring the progress of the game and kibitzes when the game was played, I feel that the no hold bar kibitzing at both site when the game get heated eliminate hypocrites opinion, since the patzer and the GM's whos both crazy about the game have a free hand in voicing there opinion about the progress of the game. The only time x tal ICC admin intervene in the discussion is when the porn video of Paris hilton got into the discussion.

With thousand of other blog who gonna post the pgn and game replayer of this game its better for me to shorten this blog by not posting it at all.

At ICC

After svidler move 24.b4 I kibitz:

timhortonsknigt kibitzes: naka could offer draw here
timhortonsknigt kibitzes: its equal

Sobreviviente(IM) kibitzes: good call timhortonsknight

GM CARUANA KIBITZ AT ICC

Adaptation(GM) kibitzes: most likely equal
Adaptation(GM) kibitzes: after a6 what does White do?

Lets go off chess topic for a while.

A video that went viral at you tube.Hitting half a million hits in less than 2 days.Lucky for this guy who know how to sing, at least he get back real good against this airline company.

My Montreal Biodome visit

A Lemur

A porcupine

A Capybara

I spend time visiting Montreal Biodome today and im so amazed by the beauty of wild creatures living at the dome.

The Canadian Lynx look so beautiful, mysterious and fierce I likened myself to this wild cat.The picture of Capybara,Lemur and porcupine are only of good quality pics i got.Someday ill surely upgrade to a first class camera.

A lot lot more could be seen there from piranha to whales to anaconda to penguins. How I wish my 4 year old nephew hara mia is with me during the time of my visit at the biodome.

Quebec invitational chess championship 2009

Quebec invitational chess championship 2009 is being held at the cozy Auberge Universal Hotel.

I just been to the tournament site, actually id been there an hour before the game started. As I observed, every single detail as to how the tournament would proceed come to close scrutiny of the organizers.

This is the 2nd day of the tournament/round 2 games.Besides seeing the regulars of Canadian chess scene, i've got a chance to see in person GM Vinay Bhat of India and IM Renier Castellanos of Spain.

Heres some of the pictures id taken from the site.

Heres two of his game i observed recently at playchess.com.

In blitz world only two player could gather such numerous observer in their games, only starwars/smallville alias Grandmaster Nakamura and the famous raffael.

Iran after election 2009

If you watch the clip closely, you will see at the end part of it, a riot policeman captured by protesters, a policeman already strip of his gun whose fate depend upon an angry mob.You will also see a group of young man and woman who rescue him from the mob, this probably are students and also check the kind gesture of one guy in offering him water.

A group of motorcycle riding riot policeman charging in the rear would create confusion among the protester in the first assault but you cant do the same method twice in dispersing these protester, its easy for angry protester to topple down a running motorcycle and maule a policeman, and remember their facing here the angry youth of Iran, probably the leaders of this march are the most brilliant amongst Iranian youth.

Wesley to play at Corus B

A letter from Corus Organizer inviting GM So to play in next year Corus B as posted by Mrs So at Wesley So page chessgames.com.

From: Jeroen van den Berg To: ELEANOR SO Sent: Tuesday, June 2, 2009 21:41:09 Subject: Corsa 2010

Dear Wesley and Eleanor,

It is my pleasure to invite Wesley So for the Gransmaster Group B of the Corsa Chess Tournament 2010. We will try to make a strong group with 14 players, mainly talented, young players. I hope and expect Category 14/15 at least (14 players).

We can offer Wesley an appearance fee of 1.800 euro, including travel costs. We can also offer Wesley a hotel room for 2 persons, as well as breakfast for two persons. The dates are: 15-31 January 2010.

Please let me know if Wesley is ready to accept this offer. In case of a positive reply, I will prepare the contract and send it to you.

Best regards,

Jeroen van den Berg,
Director Corsa Chess Tournament

As stated by Jeroen van den Berg, Corus B will be composed of players of category 14 to 15 tournament strength player and this will be set of young and talented GM's.

GM So rightfully belong to this strength level (Cat 14- 2575-2600 elo /Cat 15- 2600-2625elo.)
and lets see how his raw talent would clash against the best juniors in the world.

This is a challenge to Wesley to emerge strong despite our lack of resources.

I'll post visayan brain doctor kibitz at my personal at chessgames.com summarizing the failings of our masters through generation/Philippine chess history.Failing due to our government lack of support and a solid chess program.

"IM Rodolfo Tan Cardoso in his days was actually touted to be one of Fischer's rivals. He never even got to a GM title, although he should have. IM Rodriguez was of GM caliber I believe, but he never got anywhere either. GM Torre got as far as the Candidates only. GM Balinas had to practice law. IM Yap's life ended in a tragedy. GM Antonio is still giving it a shot, after all these years, and still not making it to Candidates."

We got politicians who like to ride high to the accomplishment of somebody like Wesley, but we know all what kind of bad air they are.

Wesley good luck! I hope you crush them all.If you will make it, then this is something bigger compared to the accomplishment set by Fabiano Caruana in Corus B last year because you did it all by yourself and with out a backing of team coach/second to support you.

Rex Sinquefield got Fischers library for 50 gran

Rex Sinquefield, founder and board president of the Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis, purchased the auctioned fischers library.

Concerning these auctioned items, Fischer made a vulgar protest about it when he was still alive.

Here is Fischers side of the story.Ill post some of the passages from his tirades. Here is it as I quoate from the book Bobby fischer the wandering king.

" I paid for 12 years the cost of that storage space in Pasadena until I was blue in the face. Those damned ---have now stolen everything. It was worth millions. There are so many tremendously valuable things there.A letter from President Nixon, all the stuff from Marcos, his letter inviting me,things from my mother and sister,my photo album,a telegram from Kissenger, posters, books, files, contracts. Those damned --- stole everyhting."

'It's business as usual for the ----- liar, embezzler and thief Bob Ellesworth. For this hardened, heartless ----- criminal robbing all of Bobby Fischer's belongings in storage was a "piece of cake".Like taking candy from a baby.Hardly worth losing any sleep over.As a--- he is convinced of the superiority of his "race",and even more importantly he knows that the fix is on and that the police won't touch him!

What happened at barangay Wesley So?

If any of you remembered my posted blog "The Filipino chess fans and Grandmaster Wesley So".

In that blog entry I discussed the phenominal number of members that join the page of GM Wesley So at chessgames.com.

Now i want to make a follow up post on it.

I actually started kibitzing at Wesley So page at chessgames.com at its 10 first pages,I started to become a fan of Wesley So when i saw one of his game being featured at the game of the day feature of Chessgames.com.

During that time, theres few of us regulars kibitzing in that page and the issue being discussed is solely addressed in chess.

After GM So got his final GM norm and won the tournament in Dubai, coupled with a win at Corus C , Wesley So page at chessgames.com jus got flooded of membership.

Anybody im sure would find it amazing how such a number of enthusiastic chessfan would gather and kibitz everyday to the point that additional and additional pages keep on turning and surpassing the pages of other popular Grandmasters.

Its hard for me to say if the members who lately are active in kibitzing at wesley so page got things out of control in there bid to surpass the most popular page/most kibitz GM page at chessgames.com.

It might be that the most zealot of the Wesley So fan who had time to do it spam the page,or topic go out of chess and instead focus on basketball, footall and tinikling which has nothing to do with Wesley So and his career.

Here is the posting guidelines of chessgames.com when it comes to posting kibitz.

No obscene, racist, sexist, or profane language.
No spamming, advertising, or duplicating posts.
No personal attacks against other users.
Nothing in violation of United States law.

This afternoon chessgames user ohiochess fan, one of the most respected kibitzer at chessgames.com lodge a complaint at chessgames.com chessforum saying.

OhioChessFan: Have you had a look recently at the Wesley So page? I understand you don't wish to come down hard on kibitizing, but that page is sprawling like kudzu. He is way too important to the chess world to see Team Rosters of hundreds of people repeatedly posted and pages and pages of votes for game moves and lists of basketball players and idle chitchat and this and that littering his forum.

On a happier note, it rocks that Magnus took the World Game offer seriously.

Chessgames.com reply to the complaint is.

chessgames.com: OhioChessFan: Have you had a look recently at the Wesley So page?
Not until you mentioned it, and we concur it is definitely getting out of hand. Even more bothersome is when we flipped back a few days there seems to be what looks like a correspondence game using his player page as a vehicle for move voting--although we're not quite sure what was going on there.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention, and remember you can always use the "Whistle" function to bring things like this to administrator's attention. This is especially important on Wesley's page because nobody on our staff can speak a word of Tagalog.

I hope that if ever theres a violation only a warning should be given, I hope no membership will get banned,no post delition will happen nor the page dont get shut off to everybody.A warning is ok to first offender.

Bobby Fischer visit to the Philippines in 1967 for "Beat Bobby Fischer" chess matches

Again a newly posted Bobby fischer video in You tube, featuring his 1967 chess game in the Philippine.

Bobby Fischer later said:

"I am not a world champion then, but they (filipinos) accepted me like a world champion.

Dr. Hawley Crippen proven innocent 99 years after he was hanged

A DNA test done by US scientists proved that the body found by authorities inside the home of Dr. Hawley Crippen contained male DNA.

The DNA discovery "proves he should be vindicated," British-Italian lawyer Giovanni Di Stefano told Canwest News Service in January, predicting that British officials eventually would have to comply with the Crippen family's petition to overturn the conviction after 99 years. "This family has been shamed long enough, and this man did not kill his wife."

Dr. Crippen was hanged in 1910 for murdering his wife.

He lost his queen at this point after which he offered a draw, i feel its not a draw since he blundered his queen and im winning this game so I refused the draw offer.

r4k1r/pp3p2/4p2p/6p1/Q1p2P2/1P5P/P5PK/R1B2q2 b - - 0 22

After he resign, he started talking crap. His main argument is i lost the game already by position before he lost his queen so he think its fair to draw the game, my point of refusing a draw is that, why would i draw a game when im winning already besides im accepting humbly all my lost game, so why i throw away a win?

fregen: i hate playing dirty crap like you

fregen: what a piece of debris you are

timhortonsknight: fuck you

fregen: shut your dirty mouth, worm

timhortonsknight: why i would agree to a draw when your lossing

timhortonsknight: fagoot

timhortonsknight: tell me

fregen: because it was lost for you

timhortonsknight: how i lost it?

fregen: by losing all your material

timhortonsknight: you lost your queen because your an idiot

fregen: yes.

timhortonsknight: idiot

fregen: so what?

fregen: i know i am.

fregen: i cannot believe what i am talking.

timhortonsknight: be nice next time

timhortonsknight: chess is all about lossing and winning

fregen: i would try.

fregen: lol

fregen: actually, it is not

fregen: you were dead before i made that one blunder.

timhortonsknight: so i am allowed to blunder and you were nopt?

fregen: some people are just good at boring you out after they lost, thats why i dont like standard.

fregen: what is nopt?

timhortonsknight: not

fregen: sure you are.

timhortonsknight: have a good day

timhortonsknight: bye for now

timhortonsknight: i hope you win next time we play

fregen: also, it was possible you didnt know you were lost, so why resign?

fregen: sorry for my talk.

timhortonsknight: ok no problem

fregen: tx

We ended the fight in a peacefull manner, this is something that admins of Free Internet Chess Server is not allowing, attacking somebody personally, but anyways i feel theres no reason to get the attention of the admins over these since we ended our argument in a peacefull manner.

Pinoy chess curriculum

Ill base my reaction on the video posted by GMA news regarding the Philippine chess curriculum.According to Department of education secretary Lapuz the chess subject will be incorporated to the existing Physical education curriculumn. The chess subject will be teach to grade 3,grade 6 and high school but for a while it would be implemented first in grade 3 level.

Yesterday, i got a chance to talk with my mother, she's a retired public school teacher. You know I come from the family of teachers, My grandfather is also a retired public school teacher and a lot of the member of our family is in teaching profession.Though my work is health care related but as a matter of love to teaching i took my diploma course in teaching at West visayas state university before i leave the country.

Nanay told me that Physical education curriculumn called "mapea" is composed of the subject of music, arts and physical education and during her time the time allotted for the subject to be teach is half hour.As the news provide it is one hour now.Secretary Lapuz of Deped said the existing subjects will still be teach but chess will be incorporated in the curriculumn.

I find it awkward to imagine how a grade 3 teacher in public school would teach chess. These female teacher in public school don't know how to play chess, almost all of them. The GMA news further say that Dep Ed give order to Division Supervisors to look for mentors to help them teach the curriculumn.

Still quite complicated for me.A grade 3 class in public elementary school with 50 pupil studying chess with out a chessboard with a grade 3 public school teacher probably wondering how this game is played staying on the sides and a barangay chess player probably a tambay acting as a mentor.

Considering the curriculumn is teach in one hour and the chess subject is teach together with music, arts and physical education then chess would have its lion share of 15 minute per session.

I'm too critical, maybe its a product of playing chess.

According to Joseph Morong GMA news correspondent, Grandmaster like Eugene Torre is expecting that out of this program the country will produce more Grandmasters.A vision that authorities of official chess organization in the country is sharing.

Is chess present in inter school competition among public school?

The answer is yes! Though there's no formal instruction on how the game is played, but during the barangay meet/inter barangay public school contest, the game of chess is included together with baseball, volleyball, declamation ,singing and dancing contest.

I am a product of public school, chess contest exist during my time, until now.I once represent my Barangay elementary school in the game of chess.

The winner in interbarangay school competition will compete with the pilot school in town and those who will win will compete in provincial level contest.

Chess is around and getting played by elementary public school student.

Wesley So is a product of a private school. The improvement of his chess skill is due to private chess clinic.
